State-of-the-art 3D tech­nol­o­gy allows the ViSy dri­ve assis­tance sys­tem to pre­cise­ly detect scenes and objects with just one cap­ture in the harsh­est of ambi­ent conditions.

The rugged con­struc­tion of the cam­eras (no mov­ing parts) and the immu­ni­ty to ambi­ent light open up new dimen­sions in the field of:

The dri­ve assis­tance sys­tem works with 3D sen­sors: Based on the method of time-of-flight mea­sure­ment (Photon­ic Mixer Device sen­sor), devel­oped for the auto­mo­tive indus­try, detect­ed scenes and objects are stored with ana­lyz­able dis­tance infor­ma­tion which is then used on the sys­tems for active reactions.

KEEPING RISK AT A DISTANCE

Using the infor­ma­tion col­lect­ed by the dri­ve assis­tance sys­tem, dif­fer­ent warn­ing lev­els and even auto­mat­ic inter­ven­tions by the safe­ty sys­tem can be imple­ment­ed. With a cam­era scan­ning range of more than 30 m in nor­mal ambi­ent con­di­tions, objects are even detect­ed ear­ly in their rel­a­tive move­ment so that the sys­tem can imple­ment a pri­or warn­ing or a reac­tion at all times.

Thanks to the par­al­lel detec­tion of objects and their dis­tances, the sys­tem also facil­i­tates exact posi­tion­ing which can then be used for an auto­mat­ed load­ing pro­ce­dure, for exam­ple on a side loader.
