Retro­fitting revers­ing sys­tems on util­i­ty vehi­cles: In this case, more is required than with a con­ven­tion­al 2D cam­era. A space mon­i­tor­ing sys­tem which detects move­ment, direc­tion and speed. Which inter­venes in oper­a­tion of the vehi­cle before acci­dents hap­pen. Which makes it eas­i­er for the dri­ver to take care of the tasks in a respon­si­ble man­ner. That’s because: Any­thing else puts employ­ees and passers-by at risk unnecessarily.

Spe­cial 3D tech­nol­o­gy makes all the dif­fer­ence in this case. The sys­tem warns the dri­ver not only with acoustic and opti­cal sig­nals, but also safe­ly and reli­ably detects per­sons and objects.

How it works and benefits

The ViSy sys­tem is based on tech­nol­o­gy cre­at­ed in the auto­mo­bile indus­try: time-of-flight mea­sure­ment. We not only detect dis­tance infor­ma­tion, but also speed and direc­tion. Our intel­li­gent soft­ware process­es this data and trig­gers reac­tions with­in the system.

Thanks to state-of-the-art PMD tech­nol­o­gy, objects and per­sons are detect­ed and ana­lyzed at a dis­tance of up to 30 meters behind the vehicle.

Auto­mat­ic emer­gency stop function

The spe­cial fea­ture of our safe­ty con­cept is that our sys­tem not only warns, but rather ulti­mate­ly inter­venes into oper­a­tion of the vehi­cle itself with its emer­gency stop function.

Active space monitoring

A “vir­tu­al space” is cre­at­ed by inno­v­a­tive­ly over­lay­ing 2D and 3D cam­eras. This space is shown to the dri­ver on a mon­i­tor. In the process, the dan­ger zones are col­or graded.

With a detec­tion range of up to 2 meters in front of the vehi­cle, the sys­tem also pro­tects objects and per­sons in both bends and driveways.

– THE 3D UNDERRUN PROTECTION SYSTEM

With a 180° mon­i­tor­ing area around the lifter arm, the risk of acci­dents is sig­nif­i­cant­ly reduced dur­ing the emp­ty­ing pro­ce­dure using the side loader.
